Mom's Visit to Alaska

The pictures are mostly in order. We posted pictures from our camera and from mom's so it got confusing.

Moose tracks on post.

Mom and William.

William running down a beautiful path.

Me and mom in the woods.

This is me running to the truck because I'm about to freeze to death, haha!

Me and mom.

William and mom at the Santa Claus House in North Pole with the reindeer. Nice view, huh?

We call this the "Elf House." This is a building for sale near North Pole. It's so cute! If we lived in North Pole and were staying there forever we would have something like this built.

We saw 2 moose on the way to Chena Hot Springs.

Mom and William in their bathing suits in -15 degree weather, lol!

We took quick pictures so we could hop in. The water feels like it's boiling so it takes a couple minutes to get all the way in.

The springs are so pretty in the winter. Dark and steamy, hot and cold, all at the same time!

You do actually get too hot in the springs and have to take breaks. For anyone that knows my mom well, you are loving this picture! She's more cold natured than I am.

Hubby and Wifey in the springs :-)

And again :-)

Mom using the cookie press to make spritz.

Yummy! Lots of butter go in these :-)

It snowed a lot while mom was here!

I helped (just a little) William hang the snowflake lights off of our balcony.

Our tree set up with lights and no ornaments.

We made tons of spritz and gingerbread cookies.

William steamed his face when he opened the oven :-( It made for a cute picture though :-)

Digging through a tub tote looking for ornaments. Dad gave us these Waterford ornaments a couple years ago and this is the first we have been able to use them.

Me and William at Geraldo's Italian. We had dinner with mom and our friend Tanya.

Icy roads. 4 lane roads become narrowed down to 2 lane roads in the winter between Fairbanks and Anchorage due to snow and ice.

William spotted a moose on the way to Wasilla.

The town near Denali National Park closes for the winter. It's eerie driving through esp. in the dark.

This is Sunrise Creek Farm in Wasilla, AK where we will be getting a baby doe, Thrianta rabbit from. We met the breeder and were able to handle a few of the rabbits while we were there.

William entering the barn to the rabbitry.

Too bad we don't want/need a goat. They loved me! However, the rabbits loved William! He's not a chick magnet, he's a rabbit magnet :-)

The rabbit peed on William's shoe without us even noticing until later, ha! Mom happened to take a picture right after it happened.

Notice the goat licking me in the background, oh my! They were trying to eat my clothes too. I'm telling you they loved me for some reason.

I finally got to hold one of the rabbits. They are so snuggly!

As we left the farm there was a beautiful sunset. This was taken at approx. 3:30 in the afternoon.
William decided to drive back home the same day we went down. I don't think we would ever do that again! William and mom with Mt. McKinley behind them.

Me and mom with Mt. McKinley behind us.
Ever watched, "Into the Wild?"
This was what it looked like when we had good visibility and no cars were kicking snow up. It was a 6-7 hour drive in the dark each way.

Fairbanks.

Mom and me.

Mom and William.

Mom under the pipeline. "So Big", lol!

Once we returned home from Wasilla, we could finish decorating the tree.

Our Christmas tree all set up. We had to buy more ornaments at Target on our trip. So sad we have to drive 7 hours to get to a Target!

We had Christmas with mom while she was here. Mom's gift to us.

Mom got us a Fontanini nativity.

Our gift to mom.

We got mom an Ivy House cookbook, Alaska dishtowel, and caramels from the Cookie Jar Restaurant, here in Fairbanks. Mom took us out to eat there the morning we went to Wasilla.
